Python Camp II
This course builds upon the Python Camp I course and introduces more advanced topics in Python. You will learn how to scrape data from the web including Yahoo! Finance and EDGAR, how to perform basic robotic process automation tasks such as managing files in the operating system and automating the mouse and keyboard. You will also learn the basics of textual analysis programming such as text pre-processing, regex, and dictionaries.

Meet the Instructor
Josh Lee is an associate professor of accounting in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University (BYU). Prior to joining BYU, he was a tenured associate professor of accounting at the University of Georgia and also previously worked as an assistant professor of accounting at Florida State University. He completed his doctoral studies at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees in accounting at BYU.
Josh learned to code in Python as a doctoral student at WashU. He now teaches a Python Data Analytics course for Masters of Accounting students at BYU.
Josh's research interests are centered around capital markets and voluntary disclosure with an emphasis on textual analysis and machine learning. His research has been accepted for publication at the Journal of Accounting & Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Accounting Studies. His research has been cited or featured in Bloomberg, CFO.com, Financial Times, and IR Magazine.
